Kate Turns 9!

Kate the Great is no longer Eight! She is 9! This girl is amazing! She is funny, smart, kind, generous, loyal, beautiful, and so much more! She has always had such a strong personality and that remains the same. Kate loves her friends, all of them, and she always has a lot! She does really well in school and is helpful to those in her class. We are so thankful for this girl and the humor she brings to our family.

Happy Easter

We celebrated Easter this year with a couple different families. We were off of school on Friday, so we went to a friend's house and the kids died eggs and did an egg hunt. We also sang some worship songs together. On Sunday, we attended the local fellowship in the morning and then had dinner with two families that night. After dinner, the hostess did the resurrection eggs with the kids and then had a candy hunt. The kids loved it! We are so thankful for the cross and what that means for us. We are hoping that next year we will have enough language to share that with our local friends!

We took Anna to an eye doctor here and discovered that she is nearsighted. We are hoping this helps with some issues she is having in school. She looks absolutely adorable!

14th Anniversary Date Night

Our 14th Wedding Anniversary is this coming Tuesday, April 9th.  Our friends were so gracious to keep our kids overnight so we could have an in town "get away!" The evening could not have been better. We checked into our hotel (we used points for the room!) and then went to take a ferry ride. After the ferry ride, we went to dinner and then a grocery store after to get some food for breakfast. We then went to the hotel and went swimming! The hotel had a beautiful pool and hot tub! It was also on the 23rd floor and it was night, so we had a beautiful view of the city! This morning we got to sleep in! It was a beautiful hotel and was such a great time together!

Spelling Bee

Our school did a spelling bee for Kindergarten-6th grade. The kids were given the words before spring break and the bee was a week and a half after we went back to school. Kate practiced her words several times during the break and was very excited to participate. The class bees were this past week on Monday or Tuesday and then the finals were on Friday. Kate won her class bee and then won her class final spelling bee on Friday. Great job, Kate!
