In January, we started attending a new church. We were able to go bowling with the new Sunday school class that we are a part of. We played two games and had a great time. I normally do not bowl anywhere close to 100, but I had a great second game. I had five strikes and two spares in one game and got a 166!! I was the top scorer of the night! The Sunday school teacher's wife took the second photo and posted it to the group's FB page. :) We then went out to eat with one of the couples and had a great time getting to know them.

Snow!
Last year, we did not get any snow in South Carolina. This year has started out with three weekends in a row of some snow accumulation or a slight dusting. The kids were thrilled and spent a good part of the day making snowmen, snow balls, and helping kitties play in the snow. We were also able to start and finish a 1000 piece puzzle in one day!

John's 9th Birthday
Our sweet John turned 9 on January 3rd. He is such a loving and kind boy who knows no stranger. He loves all things Minecraft, his sisters, and his kitties. He loves to do whatever Kate is doing and will happily follow along in any plans or schemes she comes up with. John does a great job in school and loves books. He is in the third grade at the charter school where Phil works. We love our little guy and can't wait to see what the Lord has for his life.

New Year's Eve
We spent New Year's Eve with Phil's parents and then Phil ended up at the ER with them. We had just left their house when his mom called and said his dad fell. Around 11:30, there was a knock at the door and it was some woman that had driven her car into their ditch in front of their house. She was okay and her car was okay, but she couldn't get the car out. The police came and were there for a while. When we left after midnight, there was still one police officer and the woman waiting for the tow truck. Phil's dad went back out to ask the officer a question. He tripped on the road and fell on his face. He ended up with five stitches, a major black eye, and bumps and bruises on his chest and hand. They were in the ER most of the night into early morning. What a way to start the new year! We are so thankful it wasn't worse.
