We rode the train to Bangkok for the weekend to celebrate finishing our first semester in Thailand. Unfortunately, Phil had a bad stomach sickness and needed to be near a bathroom for most of our time there. We stayed at a nice place that had a playground outside and also a living room common area where we could play games and watch movies. We took a 1.5 hour flight back to Chiang Mai instead of the 12 hour train ride.
We did it! Phil and the kids survived their first semester at Grace. They all loved the school and had a great first semester at GIS. They made lots of friends and figured out the school routine in a new place. We are so thankful for a good start to living here in Thailand.
We celebrated Anna's birthday as a family on her actual birthday. She requested boba and books, but we also treated her to Korean for lunch with her dad, nail appointment at the local nail shop, and a homemade ice cream cake for dessert. Anna is such an easy person to please and was so happy with the things we did to celebrate her. She also got inline skates with wheels that light up.
After many years (almost 100), it was time to put a new roof on the old house in North Carolina. We went with the color green so the house would blend in with the surroundings. We love it!
Phil and the kids celebrated me for Mother's Day with lunch out, flowers, and a yummy dinner!
Anna turned 15 and celebrated with her friends coming over to watch Hamilton.
Kate's team did a great job and worked really hard in their tournament. Even though they didn't win, they all had a fun time and grew a lot in their skills.
We had orientation for our org and one of the fun activities was to attend a cooking class which Kate and Rachel did. It was a fun night of making yummy food and meeting new team members.
