Quarantine School Photos From Home

Because of Covid, all of the students and teachers at our school had to do school photos from home.

Kate Turns 10!

Kate turned double digits in the midst of a very strange time---Covid. She was able to have a friend over for the day and we had dinner (outside) with our next door neighbors. I think even during this quarantine time, she felt very loved and had a great day.

John's Two Front Teeth

Within a few days, John lost both his front teeth. These little guys have been loose for a long time! This is my favorite smile...no front teeth!

Selling Our Car and Saying Goodbye

We have no idea when the city/country will open back up and we'll be able to leave. We are selling our car, so we wanted to visit one of our favorite places before we don't have a way to get up there anymore.

John's Weekly Zoom Class

I just need to document this strange time of John doing a weekly zoom call with his 1st/2nd grade class. I had to ask Phil to help John because I just couldn't even with all those little people on a zoom call. They did great, but, whew!

Easter 2020

We dyed eggs with friends (who live beside us) on Friday. We each had our own table and we kept encouraging the kids to maintain their distance. None of our kids have been out in the community in weeks, so I'm pretty sure they are all well. We are just trying to be careful since our friends' dad is a doctor for the embassy here. If he were to come in contact with anyone that has the virus, he wouldn't be able to work for two weeks.
On Sunday morning, we watched an online worship service. After lunch, we created a web for the kids to find their goody bags. They had to follow their color of yarn to find their bags. They then searched for their eggs that they had dyed on Friday. It was a good day, but I think we were all a little sad about being away from family and being quarantined away from friends here.

15th Anniversary

We celebrated our 15th anniversary quarantine style. We were at home doing school with the kids in the morning, resting/reading in the afternoon, and we had takeout for dinner. We could not get food delivered at our other apartment, but we can here. Yay! We had sushi and salmon salad. The kids had Asian noodles. The kids were our restaurant staff. They watched a movie in the other room while we had a nice dinner and were able to talk about the last 15 years. What has been good/bad/regrets/what we want to do moving forward...such a good time of conversation. We have much to be thankful for even in this strange time of Covid-19.

Make Your Own PIzza

We had a pizza night and the kids got to roll out their own dough and make their own pizzas. Phil even made his own creation.
