We left on December 29th to fly to Chiang Mai, Thailand. We had thirteen bins, two large suitcases, and five backpacks. We flew from Charlotte, NC, to Philadelphia, PA. We barely made the connection in Philadelphia to Doha, Qatar. From Qatar, we flew to Bangkok. Once in Bangkok, we had to go through passport control, collect our bags, recheck our bags, and make our flight to Chiang Mai. We knew that we probably would not make our flight to Chiang Mia since there was only 1.5 hrs between landing and take off. We collected our bags and discovered that we were missing two bins and our purple suitcase. We filled out a report, made it to the ticket counter to check in, and were told that we would not make the flight. They booked us on the next available flight and checked our bags. This gave us some time to get something to eat, freshen up, and sit down for a minute before our last flight.
We arrived in Chiang Mai around 12:30 pm and were greeted by team members. They took us to our house, took Phil to get sim cards for our phones, and brought us some food. After traveling for two days, we were exhausted. We stayed awake for as long as possible, but all fell asleep throughout the house around 5 pm. We woke up around midnight to the sound of fireworks (since it was New Year's). We got the kids into their beds and then we all went back to sleep. It was so nice to arrive in a house with beds and sheets and have a place to land right away.
