There were lots of emotions on this day, our final day at our house. We are moving out and staying with friends until we move overseas. Our realtor/property manager said most people want to be in before school starts in August, so we moved out. Our friends are so gracious to let us stay with them for a while until we get ready to go.
Kate got to go to Carowinds (amusement park) with the youth group (Anna didn't want to go). Kate isn't fond of big coasters, but she had some encouragement from her cousins and rode a big ride!
We spent one more night in our house and then moved out to get the house ready for our new renters. It took a lot of hard work leading up to getting our house ready and getting everything packed up. We are in a season of waiting to go overseas. We had to have stuff ready to store (on our property), stuff to live with, and stuff that we wanted to take with us, but don't need right now. Our old pastor and his family have graciously let us move in with them. They have a large house with lots of bedrooms, so plenty of room for all of us. They also have a horse, pony, three pigs, a sheep, two goats, two cows, a large Bernese Mountain dog, and lots of cats (two pregnant).
Anna and I were able to go to Charleston to see Hamilton! We had a dinner date at a Korean restaurant (her choice) before the show. Anna and I love Hamilton and have listened to it for a long time! It was so special to share this with her and it was her first time seeing a production like this!
Phil and I spent a few weeks working on the landscaping outside to get the house ready for our renters to move in (on August 1st). It was a lot of hard, dirty work in the hot weather, but we did it! The house looks so different and so much nicer than when we bought it! We had four large pine trees removed from the property, we painted the shutters and front door, and we did some landscaping.
John started school on July 20th this year and is in the fourth grade! All except for one year (2020-2021 at Emmanuel), John has been able to go to the same school where his dad works! This has been a fun treat for John to get to see his dad and be in the same building. We ended the day with some ice cream to celebrate!
John goes to OT once a week for an hour. The OT place put on a weekend (in town) camp for all of their 9+ kids. John was able to go Friday evening and then again on Saturday. He had a great time with the other kids and with the animals at the nature center.
Kate was able to go to camp for a week with our old church and her cousin! She had the best time and came home tired and dirty!
