We were supposed to see Rachel's sister and her family in Savannah, GA, but they were not able to come at the last minute. We decided to go anyway. We were able to drive around downtown Savannah and see the beautiful city. We also had dinner there and then drove home (a 3 hour trip).

Phil's Cousins Come to Town
Some of the family that came to the reunion drove a little bit extra the next day and stayed with Phil's parents for the week. Eric is Phil's first cousin and his whole family came along with his parents. We had such a good time with them!

John's New Glasses
We have been revisiting some medical appointments with John that we haven't addressed since before we moved overseas. One of those is the eye doctor. John now has glasses! He loves them and doesn't ever need to be prompted to wear them. He uses them for reading and watching/playing devices.

Family Reunion 2021
Father's Day weekend is always the family reunion on Phil's mother's side. Everyone comes to the old house after church and we have a potluck lunch. We had over 100 people there this year. It was a nice change from last year when only 30 came because of Covid.

Rhododendron Festival & Steakhouse
On reunion weekend, there is a schedule that people follow every year. It's not written down, it's just what the family does. They always go to the Rhododendron Festival on Saturday morning and then go to the Western Sizzlin' On Saturday evening. In the middle this year, we added something new. We had a singing/playing time at Aunt Sherri's church. It was a time for everyone to show the talents the Lord has given them. Some played the piano, some sang, and some read poetry.

Old House Friday Cookout
There is always a Friday night cookout at the old house on reunion weekend. People pitch in to bring food and we all sit around outside and have a good time catching up. We also borrowed picnic tables this year from the church up the road and it was perfect. We were able to sit outside and play games. The weather was perfect this year!
