Holiday with Thompsons--Monsaengjun

We were so glad to be able to go away for a few days with our dear friends. We stayed at a homestay (think log cabin in the woods). We took one day to go to Eakachai houseboats and then we also went to Sticky Waterfalls. The girls loved having a sleepover in their cabin without the parents and the boys loved exploring together during the day.

Summer Fun-Zoo

We went to the zoo with some of our best friends here, the Thompsons. Jasper is John's age and Poppy is Kate's age. We all have a good time together. Unfortunately, Martin (the dad) was unable to join us.

Anna's New Phone

Now that she's fifteen, we went to the mall and got Anna a new phone. She is still resistant to the idea, but we really like the thought of being able to get a hold of her if the need arises. She is very responsible and we are glad for her to take this next step into adulthood.

Anna's Gum Trimming

Due to having braces, Anna had some excess gum on her upper teeth. Before braces, there was a gap between her two front teeth, but after they were done, the gums had smooshed together leaving excess gums that needed trimming. She was such a brave soul and handled it like a champ.

Anna's Christmas/Birthday Money

Anna is a saver...until she finally caves and buys all the books. :)

Carp Cafe

We went to the Carp Cafe where the seats are surrounded by water and fish. It was a fun adventure with friends and a fun place to take visitors when they come into town.

Joni & Friends Family Camp

We were invited to attend a Joni & Friends family camp for workers here in our region. Each of our kids received a buddy who stayed with them during the day throughout the week. There was a program for the kids and sessions in the morning for the parents. It was a sweet week with other people who understand the unique challenges of parenting kids with special needs, especially for those families living outside of their passport countries.

John with Mo, Kate with Ashton, and Anna with McKenzie

We were able to go to a coffee shop for an hour for a date.

They brought people in to do haircuts, give massages, paint nails, and do facials.
