International Week

GIS had International Week and the secondary kids were able to dress up a few of the days. Rachel also was able to go volunteer on American Day to pass out American desserts (brownies & cupcakes) during lunch.

One day the girls were able to dress up as a character. Kate went as Wanda from Marvel and Anna was Repunzel. The week ended with Home Country Day and the whole school was allowed to dress up.

Superbowl (Monday)

Our school hosted a superbowl viewing for the American families (and anyone else who was interested). They served pizza and showed the game on a giant screen in their cafeteria. It was fun to gather and do something "American."

Our New Puppy

When Anna and I went to the shelter today, there was a new puppy that had just arrived. They called her Lucky. She was brought in because she was bit by another dog at the temple where she was dropped off. She was treated and then scheduled to have surgery for sterilization. We asked if we could take her home while she waited for the surgery and then for her recovery time. After having her for a week, we decided to keep her. It took us a while to name her, but we finally settled on Yala (the southern most province in Thailand). She is such a smart dog and was already house trained when she came. She also taught herself to scratch at the screen door to be let out. She is friendly and good with strangers and children.

Phil's HR Team

Phil was put on the HR team for this semester since he has almost 20 years of experience in HR. He has loved working with this team and has added great value to the HR department and to the school.
