First Time Back to Church

We spent the first two weeks of our time back in the USA staying mostly at home. Phil's parents' church had just started back up meeting in person the Sunday after we returned. We stayed home the first two weeks, but were excited to go attend church the third week. We have really missed being in church with others.

Ethan's Graduation

Our oldest nephew on Phil's side graduated. We were able to go to his graduation and there was also a party the next day. Phil's mom made shirts for all of us to wear with Ethan's face on it.

New Van

We bought a van! We had been looking online and around town. We found one through Carmax and had it delivered to a store closest to us (1.5 hr away).  We took a trip with just the five of us to go see it. We are thankful for the provision of a vehicle for our family. Of course, we had to get Chick-fil-a while we were in a town that had one. Yum!

Friends' Surprise Visit

Some of our good friends from Nashville drove over to SC to surprise us with a visit. Phil was in on it and helped make the surprise happen. We were thrilled to see some of our friends and had a great couple of days together.

Anna Turns 12!

Our sweet Anna girl turned 12 and got to celebrate with family this year. We have always lived far away and have always celebrated with friends that were like family to us. This year she got to have a party with her family. She started the day with a breakfast date with daddy. Thankfully, there was a restaurant in town that was open where they could go. After lunch, we all went to the park to play some basketball. It was so hot, but Anna made the winning shot for her team. We then came back to go swimming and have a cookout.

Two of her favorite things--basketball and soccer

First Few Days in the USA

We drove two hours home from the Charlotte Airport and crashed! It was so late and we were so tired from the two days of travel. The next few days were filled with family and lots of American things we have missed. It did feel super strange to be back.

Almond milk and American cereal!

Blueberries!

Contraband--We accidentally sneaked in two apples from our previous country.
So tired!

We got mail.
Lots of lizards around here.

When you're feeling homesick, you sit down and have a cup of real tea in your 'from previous home' glasses.

Airport Welcome

Phil's entire immediate family (minus one brother-in-law) came to the airport to welcome us back.

Travel Day

We were able to get a flight out on May 12th. We flew through four airports and over two days (49 hours). It was a very long two days, but the kids did great and we made it.

In Rome eating Kenyan donuts a friend made for our travels

In Frankfurt-the airport we will NEVER forget

In the US at Dulles--one more flight to go

A new friend-Yul. So many adventures with their family in just 12 hours at one airport.

Finally in Charlotte!
In Charlotte waiting for the grandparents to pick us up. So tired!
