Christmas Trip-Hungary

Dec. 28th: We had breakfast at the hotel and then hung out there until we left for our train. Our train left at 2:37. We got groceries and had a late lunch on the train. We got into Erd around 6 and Cheryl and Steve Winget picked us up from the train station. We dropped our stuff at their team's apartment across from their house and then had dinner with them. Cheryl made us a yummy dinner or pork roast, vegetables, noodles, potatoes, and homemade rolls. Brownies and ice cream for dessert. We had such a good conversation with them while the kids watched White Christmas. They are going to show us the school where their kids attended and where Cheryl used to work. They asked if we would be interested in working there.

Dec. 29th: Last day of vacation! We got up and got ready for church. Cheryl had washed a load of clothes for us so we could all have one clean outfit for church. We had only washed our underclothes in Rome, but have been wearing the same three outfits for two weeks. Cheryl also gave us cereal and milk for breakfast.

We went to their international church (Danube International Church) at 10:30. After church, we took the metro to a Christmas market in Budapest. It was freezing outside (25-30 degrees), so we saw the market, took the tram along the water to see Parliament, and then headed back to our apartment. We had Burger King for dinner and then headed to the airport around 9 pm.Our flight left at 11:45 and we got into our city around 6:30 the next morning. We were all exhausted. We went home, had breakfast, and then all headed back to bed. We slept until 2 pm. Thankfully, we had a week of break left before school started to recover from vacation.

Yummy Christmas Market food!!  Salmon, pork, and sausages.

John sleeping in passport control. He had only slept about an hour on the flight.
