Goodbye Nashville-Monday

Amidst all the craziness of selling our house, finishing up our packing, and saying goodbye to all of our friends, we are trying to say goodbye to our city. If we ever move back to the states, we would plan to come back to Nashville. Having lived here 10 years this August (We moved here when Anna was four months old.), Nashville is home. This is all our kids have known. We asked the kids what things they would like to do one more time, so we are trying as much as possible to honor their requests.  Today we went to Fox's Donut Den for breakfast and then to the Dragon Park.  It is a park that is located right near Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where John spent the first five months of his life. For those of you who didn't know us at that time, John was born at 24 weeks weighing 1.8 lbs. His life is a miracle and I am daily reminded of the goodness of God and how he healed John and grew him up to where he is today! All that to say, we spent a lot of time at Dragon Park since Anna and Kate were so young when John was born. We would visit there before or after visiting John. Even after he came home from the hospital, he still had lots of appointments at Vanderbilt, so we would play there often. We also spent a few (very hot) hours at the zoo in the afternoon.
In the evening, my bunco group had a going away party for me. This is a group of women who have been through a lot between all 12 of us in the many years we have been getting together monthly to play. We didn't get a picture, but these women have shown our whole family such love and generosity over the ten years I have known them. I am so thankful for the many memories I have of each and every one.  They are all truly a gift from the Father and I will miss them all so dearly!
